For Youth
Youth will gain insight, practice and applicable tools that support social and emotional literacy and foster authentic personal connection, empathy and compassion through the power of voice.
The desired outcome is that participants become more emotionally aware and mindful of self and others and are able to apply positive behavior development to real life situations. When open and willing to grow in these SEL competencies, the following outcomes can take place:
- positive campus culture and climate
- increased classroom engagement
- increased self-worth, belonging and confidence
- decreased likelihood of bullying and aggressive behavior
- healthier friendships and relationships
- enhanced communication skills
- compassionate future leaders
- safer, stronger and more tolerant communities
- less stress, anxiety and fatigue
- decreased chances of participating in behaviors detrimental to health and happiness
