Designed to cultivate social and emotional literacy both in children and adults, participants receive and uplifting, shared experience that uniteds individuals using our MAPSS technique. MAPSS is a collaboration of Movement, Affirmations, Poetry, Stories and Songs that engages and connects participants and activates joy. Through this musical, kinesthetic, "See it. Say it. Do it." interactive experience, we transform audiences into instruments themselves, reignite the childlike and soften the awkward moments in between. In doing this, audiences open their hearts and prepare their minds to connect with their peers, colleagues, and organizational leaders.
Participants are invived to listen and receive compelling stories told by Will and Alejandro. Tailored to meet the needs and ages of their audience, their narratives illustrate how they experienced life differently in their formative years, yet were inspired to share a similar life's purpose as fathers, husbands, artists and leaders fueling emotional literacy among people of all ages and diverse backgrounds. Their willingness to model emotional courage offers the audience insight, wider perspective and opportunities to practice empathy, compassion and emotional awareness.
Utilized with upper elementary, middle and high school students as well as adults, participants engage in a low risk and high success, meaningful writing experience using custom templates aligned with the theme of the presentation. Opportunities for reflection take place during the writing as well as the partner, small group and whole group share. This experience offers the audience a chance to develop and demonstrate personal connection, trust, communication skills, self awareness, courage, self-confidence, empathy and compassion.
